Mandara Rosen is a '4 Star' hotel situated in a shady, tranquil garden at the foot of a range of hills, in the sacred town of Kataragama.

There is much to experience in the south of Sri Lanka where the history of the ancient Ruhunu Kingdom dates back to the 2nd century B.C. The south is also blessed with an abundance of wilderness and beautiful sunkissed beaches. Mandara Rosen meets the need for a comfortable and well-equipped hotel in this region. Its bright and airy rooms and modern facilities include a large swimming pool.

A host of facilities to keep young children occupied including a gymnasium, table tennis, pool, badminton and indoor games.  The real excitement begins as the family  climb aboard one of the many jeeps that pull up the drive each day 6am to embark on a Yala safari to search for leopards. The entrance beside Rosen is ideally located to catch early sunbasking leopards on the rock.

Kataragama has a constant flow of pilgrims but the town really becomes alive at the annual Perahera (festival) in August, as firewalkers, elephants and Kandyan dancers take to the streets in their  vibrant colours.
